The Demise of Indian Politics

Huh!!!!

Recently I read the news that in India, every educational institution, government has raised the quota from current 27% to 49.5%. Clearly as one can figure out, its all about politics. Even the opposition parties, which in general are so vehement about any government policy, are also avoiding any antagonism, in fear of losing its "vote-bank".

Is everybody so involved in politics that the only thing they can think of is votes?? Has morality totally lost in India?? Is that the reason most of the people hate politics and those who are in there, really enjoy it?? Is it just human nature or there is something wrong with the political system of this country??

At times they call for equality and then these politicians are themselves trying to divide the people based on the caste system. How good is a person who gets into these educational institutes just based on the quota system, and then keeps on failing, just because he's not prepared to face that level of education. Remember it's not only about getting a chance but also successfully utilizing it.

Accepted that being in politics you've to take care of your "vote-bank", but does that influences these politicians so much that coming in power the next time becomes the only motive of working in the present tenure. And it doesn't seem to be the problem of one person or party, or even one particular country; this is so widespread, omnipresent that we can't even think of one pure-hearted person, working for the welfare of people. Well, if there are such generous people at all, they are so much left behind in the race, that they hardly ever get any chance of serving the people.

And the mockery in the numbers is that the reservation is kept at 49.5%. Why not 50% or 51%. Is it just to show that the "common" or first class people still have the priority if they deserve it?? Why not divide everything based on castes, like 10% to Brahmins, 10% to SCs, 10% to politicians’ contacts....blah blah blah...

Are we moving towards our downfall, or is it just another blemish to be added, leading to a path where we'll have to witness many more milestones like that, before we finally wake up or get into some irrecoverable blight?? Is this politics for our good or to annihilate us?? India is always proud to be the largest democracy in the world, but is this thing worth to be proud of, considering that the democracy has become a mere tool of making fool of everybody to satisfy one's ends??

God help the politicians, and God help this country.
